OFFICER ROSELAND BRINGS THE HEAT TO PHILLY STIR FRY LIVE!!
Still a little known place tucked away in the heart of South Philly sits a venue called Philly Stir Fry Live! It was a great night to experience something hot, new and exciting. And that's just what Officer Roseland brought to the StirFry crowd! Just over 120 people, which is surely a good night for an event like this, Officer Roseland was simply put……. Amazing! I want to thank them personally for coming out and turning up the volume one more notch.
I can honestly say that I witnessed musical history in the making. If you have not gotten a chance to see them live, please do yourself a favor and jump on a train, boat, plane, even a tricycle would work. Trust me on this, just get there by any means necessary. I believe next up for them is the IMC kcik-off party on the 1st of September in Old City at the Sheraton. I will surely be there and I suggest you don't miss it either.
It's not everyday you get to see the kind of performance that transcends itself beyond sound into a feeling that's beating and vibrating and harmonizing with the music in your mind, body & soul.
From the moment they hit the stage til the moment they left, I was simply in awe and most of all so blessed that they chose our event to play. I consider Officer Roseland a musical gift from the heavens.
So all that there is left to say is..................... ROCK ON MY BROTHERS!!!!
ROCK ON!!!!
Peace & Blessings

Officer Roseland - Self Titled
There are many acts that dabble in the genre-splicing category of music and only a scant few stand out from the pack. Too many times the changes sound forced or the overall effort is reduced to a cheap imitation. Such is not the case with the Pennsylvania-based outfit Officer Roseland. You can hear the influences of bands like Primus, Ween and Mr. Bungle throughout, but their sound definitely has it's own thing going on... The playing is skilled and it is apparent they are having a great time with the material. The music is humorous, but not in a Weird Al sort of way. Simply put, this album is great. I recommend this to anyone with a short attention span who likes music that is off the beaten path and a bit tongue in cheek. Especially bass players. Officer Roseland - Sunglasses
For their second release, Sunglasses, Officer Roseland has chosen to streamline their genre blending sound in favor of a more straightforward approach. Luckily, their execution skills remain razor sharp and they prove themselves quite adept in the art of writing songs that flow with punch and effectiveness. The overall production is top notch and extremely well done thanks largely to the chops of Brian Jones who recorded, mixed, produced and played on the album. For the most part, the tones are all huge and everything sounds tight and in the pocket. However, in the process of boiling down their sound, they seemed to have abandoned an experimental edge that I personally enjoyed from the previous album. Gone are the electronic interludes as well as the over the top sense of humor that fueled the first release. In its stead are stripped down rock songs that pulse with a vibrant energy all their own. Yes, the changes are more predictable than before, but the hooks really grow on you. From the Primus-esque stomp of "Surface Failure to the unbridled energy of "Body on Tap", these songs ultimately deliver the goods. Although, in all honesty, folks hailing from the outskirts of Filthy-delphia, PA have little or no room to call another state a "fucking dump", no matter how catchy the song's hook may be. Perhaps that's just me though. Either way, YOU CANNOT STOP OFFICER ROSELAND! - Robert M. Krautheim, Concussion Magazine - www.concussion.org
The Fly Wessex by Louise Glyde
The Hobbit in Southampton was host to four American rockers on Saturday night. Officer Roseland, from Philadelphia in Pennsylvania, performed five dates in the UK and used a mobile home in Andover as a touring base. The band consists of Dan Daidone ( vocals/bass ) Brian Jones ( keyboards/guitar ) John Ilisco ( drums/percussion ) and Harry Grannis on Bass. They oozed typical American skater cool with their shin-length shorts, baggy t-shirts, tattoos, earrings and baseball caps. Their music was extremely fast paced and a cross between heavy rock and punk with an occasional hint of ska - although it seems so many current bands shy away from being pigeon holed into a genre. Officer Roseland have a relatively good variety of songs. Heavy guitar playing coupled with steady and skilled drumming got the feet moving to the ska-sounding tunes and the heads banging for the heavier stuff. It was good gym or driving music, racy enough to get the pulse up and constructed eloquently enough to sing along to. Lead singer Dan literally flailed a tambourine about like it was trying to bite his arm off and sang himself blue in the face. He really got into the music and, like the rest of the band, encouraged the handful of onlookers still around at 1am to get sweaty with him. Officer Roseland had a good sense of humor and they bantered with the crowd like they were Hobbit regulars. An evening of good fun and great music, lets hope we'll see Officer Roseland around our way again.
